Ah, the famed Sugar Pine Forest. If you’re on Instagram, chances are you’ve come across photographs of this magical place. Well, that’s how I found out about it back in 2014… safe to say it’s taken me years to actually find the time and means to visit (you’ll need a car), but it’s been well worth the wait!
Located in Bago State Forest, just outside of Tumut, the Sugar Pines are easily accessible by private vehicle. The Forestry Corporation also has a handy map of the area, with plenty of campsites by Blowering Dam to choose from if you’re planning on staying the night. If you’re in Victoria, I recommend checking out the Californian Redwoods in Beech Forest for a similar experience.
